I’m Marty Engle, a lifelong artist with an eye for the bold, the striking and the unusual and a somewhat haunted sensibility. My work explores the space where the sensual meets the supernatural, where classic oil portraiture collides with modern myth capturing the harrowing yet beautiful experience of being human. Every piece in this shop is hand-painted by me in my Tennessee studio (affectionately called the haunted mansion and decorated as such) using traditional oil paints on canvas or linen in the time honored tradition — featuring gothic heroines, monsters with hearts, shadowy romances, and strange, beautiful things that live just beyond the glint of awareness.

The prints are museum-grade giclée prints of my highly emotionally charged paintings — each one resonating with the raw, universal experiences of the human condition: pain and pleasure, triumph and tragedy.
